The Thai Society of Hematology (TSH)
                
The Thai Society of  Hematology was established in 1978, with the objective of being the center for  hematologists, scientists and others interested in hematology. It is also responsible for the training and  promoting of scientific activities and research within the field and has  established ongoing connection with numerous international hematology societies. At present, there are 834 members including  physicians, scientists, nurses and pharmacists. Throughout its 40 years of  establishment, the Thai Society of Hematology has initiated and implemented  significant progressive developments that have benefited the country.
Current Developments in Hematology in  Thailand
The curriculum of  subspecialty in Hematology was initiated in 1980, under the auspices of the  Royal College of Physicians of Thailand and Royal College of Pediatricians of  Thailand. The curriculum received  accreditation by the Medical Council, and at present there are 434 Board  certified hematologists. The Thai  Society of Hematology also collaborates with the Royal College of Physicians of  Thailand and the Royal College of Pediatricians of Thailand in the training and  certification of diplomas in Internal Medicine.
The Thai Society of  Hematology has organized training courses for hematology fellowships for more  than 20 years with training for approximately 25-30 hematologists per year.
With its partner  institutions, the Thai Society of Hematology has also played an important role  in making the general public and government awareness of hematology-related  diseases.
Experienced Host for Scientific Activities
Every year, the scientific  activities of the Thai Society of Hematology begin with the annual meeting,  educational course for young hematology trainees, short course for general  practitioners, intensive course of palliative care for hematology trainee, mid-year  meeting, refresher course for hematologists, inter-hospital conferences (8  conferences per year) and TSH international symposium.

    - Annual  TSH Academic Meetings in March 
 (delegates : 280-350 | duration: 4 days)
 
- Midyear  TSH Academic Meeting in October or November 
 (delegates: 150 -200 | duration: 1.5 days)
 
- Refresher  Course for Hematologists in January 
 (delegates: 150-180 | duration 1.5 days)
 
- Educational  Course for Hematology Trainees in July 
 (delegates: 60-80 | duration 1.5 days)
 
- Palliative  Care: Intensive Course for Hematology Trainees in September
 (delegates: 50-70 |  duration 1.5 day)
 
- Intensive  course for pediatric oncology in October (every 2 years)
 (delegates: 100-130 |  duration 1.5 day)
 
- Hematology  Short Course for General Practitioners in August
 (delegates: 50-70 | duration 1 day)
 
- Inter-hospital  conferences: 4 conferences for adult hematology and 4 conferences or childhood hematology rotating to  each main institute in Bangkok every 3 month
 (delegates: 50 | duration 3  hours)
 
- TSH  International Symposium (TSH-IS)
 (delegate: 150-200 |  duration 2.5 days)
The Thai Society of Hematology has also  organized and hosted international conferences; such as
